We’re delighted to welcome Hurly Burly Theatre back to Sefton Libraries for a short residency developing and testing a new performance! Partnering with Theatre Hullaballoo and Brighton Dome, we’re supporting Hurly Burly to develop a unique new performance with regular Squish: Creative Play participants that will tour the country! Parents and children will help develop this production, shaping the story through conversation and creative and playful activity. 

There will be two development workshops, on Tuesday in Bootle and Friday in Netherton when our regular Squish sessions take place. No need to bring anything with you - Hurly Burly will use our conversation and play as a starting point for ideas!

Please note, space is very limited and regulars will be given priority in the development workshops. A waitlist will be available so please let us know if you can no longer attend so the spot can be given to somebody else.

In the same week, we will also have two performances of You Are The Sun! This performance visited Netherton last year, an opera for babies and grownups that explores the magic of nature. Combining the joy of gentle classical singing and sensory play, it’s an invitation to see beauty in the smallest things and to let plants be our guides.

Plants from the local area, around each library, will be foraged by Hurly Burly Theatre members and used in the performances. Expect soil, water, play, these local plants, live music with instruments and exploring and celebrating the gift of nature and the worlds it can conjure.

Squish is a programme of artist-led, creative play workshops for children aged 12 months - 3. Younger siblings welcome.

Please book and spaces are limited to 3 children per adult. Please book for every child and adult attending.

Children must be supervised by their adults at all times
