Found in Translation: a shared reading group In-Person

Marking Refugee Week, exploring the theme of Courage, June's shared reading group is led by artist Cintia Nguyen. We'll be reading Sujata Bhatt's Search For My Tongue, Hafiz of Persia's The Astonishing Light of Your Own Being and Langston Hughes' Still Here.

Found In Translation is a chance to explore literature in its original language and translated into English.  If you've never been to a reading group before, this is a great place to start. There's no homework, no pressure to read aloud, and plenty of time to listen, chat and share your thoughts if you'd like to.

Open to everyone including those for whom English is a second language, those studying on ESOL courses, or anyone interested in reading literature in different languages!

Cintia Nguyen is a Vietnamese-Hungarian illustrator based in Liverpool whose work is rooted in storytelling, culture and connection. Alongside her illustration practice, she facilitates creative sessions that encourage people to explore creativity at their own pace. Her work is informed by living between cultures and an understanding of the resilience involved in building a life in a new place.

Part of the Colour of Pomegranates, a programme which brings women from all backgrounds together in shared creativity and cultural exchange.
