Christ Church Bootle - Cinema in the City Family Cinema: Flow (U) + Where the Wild Things Are (PG)
FACT and At The Library present a family-friendly edition of Cinema in the City, our pop-up cinema experience that brings exciting films to unexpected places across the city. This time, it is all about celebrating Bootle and the families who live there. Join us this summer between Monday 18 and Wednesday 20 August for fun family film screenings, nature hunts, and creative activities at Bootle Library and Christ Church Bootle – all inspired by the magic of nature and part of this year’s public libraries Summer Reading Challenge.
Flow (U)
Tuesday 19 Aug, Christ Church Bootle
Doors + Activity: 13:00 | Film: 14:00-15:30
FLOW (2024) blends dreamy animations with heartfelt storytelling, all without a single spoken word, transcending the barriers of language and age. After a flood devastates their home, a ragtag group of animals (voiced by real animals) band together on a boat to survive dramatically rising sea levels.
Where the Wild Things Are (PG)
Tue 19 Aug, Christ Church Bootle
Doors + Activity: 16:30 | Film: 17:30-19:15
Film Duration: 97 mins
WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE (2009) is a bold, moody reimagining of Maurice Sendak’s 1963 children’s book of the same name. Max Records, a misunderstood child, sails away from home to an island full of large talking beasts called ‘Wild Things’, where they quickly crown him their king.
Access
The venue is fully wheelchair accessible. The film will be screened with open captions to provide an inclusive viewing experience. Open captions help to ensure that all viewers, regardless of their hearing abilities, can fully experience and engage with the film screening.
